A balance of these two characteristics dramatically expands one’s capability to function and excel in different environments over time. In this work, resilience is reflected in the stone-like texture (stability) and the flowing composition (malleability).

The harmonious interplay of the cool color shades of green, blue, and magenta symbolize serenity. The movement of those cool colors depicts action, because serenity is not simply static; it is purposeful and productive. The cool color shades act with intentionality to both constrain and overlay the warm shades of orange which symbolize the unsettling aspects of today’s world.

As its name implies, “Game On” symbolizes competition between two teams (represented by the cool versus warm colors) to control the “field of play,” which is represented by the blacks, whites, and grays.

Canyon began with a photographic print of the rock wall of a canyon, and that constitutes the “mixed media” portion of this primarily acrylic painting. It carries no symbolism or inspirational messaging. It is simply an abstraction of a rock canyon that includes earthtone colors.
